MOON LAKE CAMPSITES: Campsite 1 (#694): Westernmost side on this lake. Located on a point. Campsite 2 (#695): The middle of the three campsites located on this lake. Campsite 3 (#696): Easternmost campsite on this lake. Just west of the Deer Lake portage.
There are three different portage routes into this lake, so you may see more canoe traffic than usual here.
If you need a campsite, the western campsite on the point and the middle campsite are probably going to be most to your liking. The easternmost campsite on the lake is small and a bit rough.
Water from Moon Lake flows to the north into Deer Lake. The lake is fed by a tiny creek on its western tip that comes from Flour Lake.
An old road used to run along the north side of Moon Lake, running west to east and ending at the current day portage to Deer Lake. A somewhat prominent hill separates Moon Lake and Deer Lake. The hill lies just north of the old road and has an elevation of 1,834 feet. The surface of Moon Lake is at an elevation of 1,642 feet.
