Campsite 1 (#2247): West campsite on Benezie Lake Campsite 2 (#2248): East campsite on Benezie Lake
The Benezie-Becoosin Loop Trail hangs off the south side of the Kekekabic Trail near Parent Lake and is nearly 2 miles long. The trail provides access to two lakes, Becoosin Lake and Benezie Lake. Each of those lakes having two campsites. The west end of the Benezie-Becoosin Trail connects to the Kekekabic Trail (and Snowbank Lake Trail) about 0.3 west of where the Kekekabic Trail and the Snowbank Lake Trail join. This is about 4.6 miles from the Kekekabic Trail's western trailhead, shortly past a creek crossing. There is a well worn wooden marker to show the turnoff onto the Benezie-Becoosin Loop. The east end of the Benezie-Becoosin Loop connects to the Kekekabic Trail about 0.8 miles east of the point where the "Kek" joins the Snowbank Lake Trail. This point is marked by a somewhat obscure rock cairn. This spot is about 1.1 miles east of the western junction of these trails.
Of the four campsites located on the Benezie-Becoosin Loop Trail, the two campsites on Becoosin Lake are the best. The two campsites on Benezie Lake are rather minimal, especially the western one.
There is another nearby campsite on the Snowbank Lake Trail about a third of a mile north of that trails junction with the Kek Trail on Parent Lake, if none of campsites along the Benezie-Becoosin Loop trail suit you are are otherwise unavailable.
If you have a desire to fish, Benezie Lake has northern pike. Only yellow perch inhabit Becoosin Lake.

HIKING FROM THE WEST JUNCTION WITH KEKEKABIC TRAIL TO BWCA CAMPSITE 2246 ON BECOOSIN LAKE
This is the marker along the Kekekabic Trail/Snowbank Lake Trail marking the western junction with the Benezie-Becoosin Loop Trail.
You come to this beaver dam almost immediately after starting down the trail.
View of the pond created upstream of the beaver dam.
A hike of roughly 0.3 miles from the trail junction to BWCA Campsite 2246. Shortly after leaving the Kekekabic Trail, you head down a short slope and come to a beaver dam crossing. As soon as you cross the beaver dam, turn right immediately and head a short ways along the shoreline (this area is often flagged with blue tape). Do not head up the rock face where it looks like there is some sort of crevice/stairway. You will soon turn into the forest and walk up a moderate incline. There is an undesignated campsite near the top of the hill, coming up the slope from the beaver dam crossing. Grouse are common in this area. Continue through the forest until reaching the marker for the campsite.
This Becoosin Lake campsite is 0.3 miles down the trail from the junction with the Kekekabic Trail. See BWCA Campsite 2246 for more details.

HIKING FROM BWCA CAMPSITE 2249 ON BECOOSIN LAKE TO BWCA CAMPSITE 2247 ON BENEZIE LAKE
Grouse are very common along the trail.
The first campsite you arrive at on Benezie Lake is a sparse setup indeed.
Marker along trail for BWCA Campsite 2247 which is the western campsite on Benezie Lake.
HIKING FROM BWCA CAMPSITE 2247 ON BENEZIE LAKE TO BWCA CAMPSITE 2248 ON BENEZIE LAKE
View from the west campsite on Benezie Lake (BWCA Campsite 2247). This is a seldom used campsite. The tent pad was heavily overgrown and there was no furniture near the fire grate as of the October 2022 visit.
Short hike between the two campsites with occasional views of Benezie Lake.
This marker is on the left side of the trail. BWCA Campsite 2248 is located on the opposite side of the trail from Benezie Lake, perched on a small hill. This is the better of the two campsites on Benezie Lake.
