Quartz Lake
Quartz Lake forms at a wide spot along Drumstick Creek. Quartz Lake is the eastern most of a string of three small lakes. Of this chain of little lakes, Quartz Lake is the only one to be named and is just barely the largest of the three.
The forest fires of 1885-1889 affected the area from Fire Lake up to Disappointment Lake.
A fire in 1910 burned a swath of forest from the Horseshoe/Wilder Lake area and moved north, burning the forests around Parent Lake and Disappointment Lake.
Fire burned the region in 1916-1917 centered on the Drumstick Creek drainage and forest just to its east.

Visit the Drumstick Creek page on this website, since the entire bushwhack out to Quartz Lake is completed by paddling (mostly) and bushwhacking along (some) of this creek.
Exploring Quartz Lake
Zero data on this lake to be found on the Internet. From maps and satellite images you can see the lake is surrounded primarily by peat bogs, with some forested stretches of shoreline and several rock outcroppings. A notable point extends into the lake from the north shore. Would look at this point first if you are in need of a campsite. Drumstick Creek is wide in the area around Quartz Lake and flows into the east side of the lake and out of its west side.
