This creek provides a route into the Weeny Lake Primitive Management Area from Range Line Lake. Range Line Lake is not in the PMA. Range Line Creek is crossed by the Sioux-Hustler Trail just north of Range Line Lake.
This area of the BWCA has escaped fire for a long time. The most recent fire was in 1755. That fire is known as the Big Moose, Oyster and Lac La Croix complex. Another fire affected the area in 1681.
Paddling Range Line Creek
From Range Line Lake, Range Line Creek flows generally northward and dumps into Lucky Finn Lake after about a mile. Much of Range Line Creek is navigable when water levels are sufficient (such as springtime). There are several stretches that require bushwhacks; these are mostly the sections of the creek that pass through the forest. Most of the time, Range Line Creek courses through peat bogs and marsh.
