A 25 rod portage from Bat Lake downhill to Gillis Lake. This portage loses quite a bit of elevation and there are some rocky sections. Therefore, footing can be tricky in spots. The portage comes to an end with the reward of a pretty view of a small island. The time is early evening in mid-October.
