This lake is just a wide section of the Chub River which flows into the east end of the lake and out the west side of it. The lake is very shallow with a muddy bottom. Most places in the lake are less than two feet deep. By mid-summer the lake will have an extensive covering of lily pads and other aquatic vegetation. A small stream flows into the north side of Warclub Lake. This stream drains several wetlands to the north. Some of the lakes shoreline avoided the worst of the Cavity Lake Fire. Perhaps the extensive wetlands around the lake protected it some. This area is good moose habitat, so keep a lookout.
On the west end of the lake is a beaver dam where the Chub River flows out. On the east end the lake grades into the river (hard to tell exactly where), but there is often a beaver dam just up the Chub River. These beaver dams will affect the water level of this lake.
The Kekekabic Trail runs along the south shore of Warclub Lake. The trail crosses the Chub River just west of where it exits Warclub Lake on a rockhopper crossing. The "Kek" traverses the Chub River on the east end of Warclub Lake near the start of the portage to Fay Lake. There often is a simple log bridge here, assuming it hasn't been washed out. The portage and the Kekekabic Trail run together for much of that portage and split just before you reach Fay Lake. The trail (and that portage) are very rugged. Very!
There are no campsites on this lake. The lake doesn't look promising for fishing.

PADDLING FROM THE CHUB RIVER PORTAGE INTO THE CHUB RIVER (EASTBOUND AND UPSTREAM)
Standing on the end of the beaver dam at this end of the portage. You are looking east at Warclub Lake. This area is one of the deeper parts of the whole lake.
Setting off from the Chub River portage, head east right down the middle of Warclub Lake. The lake eventually turns to more of a river at the east end and at some point you are on the Chub River again.
Looking southwest from somewhere near the middle of Warclub Lake. The south shoreline of the lake still has some old growth forest intact.
View is to the north of the rocky shoreline. Rocks are exposed because of the recent fire. Just to the right of your view there is a narrow channel that extends northward about 300 feet to a small pond.
