Grace Lake is along the "Lady Chain" of scenic lakes. These were probably named by Bill Mulligan, a forest ranger, after his aunts.
If you are debating whether you should take the 285 rod portage from Beth Lake or the two shorter portages through Ella Lake, the easiest route is the 285 rod portage. The portage from Ella Lake to Grace Lake is fairly difficult. The portage from Beth Lake to Ella Lake is easy enough. Nevertheless, Ella Lake is a pretty lake and worth a visit if you have the time and energy.
Grace Lake's clear waters have a good smallmouth bass and walleye fishery.
The shoreline of Grace Lake has a mixed forest of deciduous and coniferous trees.
There are two small drainages entering the north shoreline of Grace Lake. The eastern one is a small creek originating at Wager Lake and flowing through Magic Lake before flowing into Grace Lake. The other short drainage begins at Stub Lake and June Lake and flows into the lake just east of the Phoebe River outlet. A small creek coming from Beth Lake flows into Grace Lake just north of the Beth Lake portage landing. All the water from Grace Lake eventually flows out the Phoebe River at the westernmost point of the lake.
