Beavercut Lake
Have not yet visited this Primitive Management Area lake. The information displayed on this page are notes used for planning a future trip to this area. Use the information on this page at your own risk.
This is a small lake just south of Jackfish Lake. It is accessible from Jackfish Lake by following a small channel south for about 20 rods. You will probably have to bushwhack along this channel as beaver activity and brush appear to block it from satellite photos.
Beavercut Lake does not appear on most modern maps. However, it is shown on older Fisher maps of this area (1980's). So it may or may not be an official lake now in Minnesota. It is a reasonably large body of water (nearly as large as Maingan Lake or Pakwene Lake...bigger than Tick Lake and about the size of Webfoot Lake) so it is worth inclusion nonetheless on this website.
Approach to Beavercut Lake
The approach is from Jackfish Lake which is reasonable accessible from Crooked Lake via Wabosons Lake.
Bushwhack to Beavercut Lake
Head south from Jackfish Lake through a small overgrown channel for about 20 rods.
Exploring Beavercut Lake
The lake is oriented southwest to northeast. The northwestern shoreline appears to have some rock outcrops. The south end of the lake is a peat bog or a marsh where a small stream flows into the lake. The lake appears to have some depth.
