Triumph Lake
Triumph Lake, also called Wren Lake, is probably most easily reached via a hearty paddle up Triumph Creek from Bootleg Lake. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources did some survey work on this lake and it is here the lake is listed as Wren Lake rather than the more commonly referred to name of Triumph Lake. The Minnesota DNR survey can be found here.
This area was most recently burned in 1910 by the Sioux River, Bootleg, Big Moose and Cummings Lake complex. In 1894 it may have been impacted as the Chad, Cummings, Lac La Croix, Crooked Lakes complex raged near this area. Also, around 1755 the area was burned during the Big Moose, Oyster, Lac La Croix complex fires.
Approach to Triumph Lake
The approach to Triumph Lake is entirely accomplished by paddling up Triumph Creek from Bootleg Lake. This looks like a challenging, but interesting route.
Bushwhack to Triumph Lake
The bushwhack is the same as the approach; paddle, bushwhack and curse your way up Triumph Creek.
Exploring Triumph Lake
There is very little information on this lake and it has probably been visited by less than a handful of intrepid voyagers in the past couple decades.
