You can stand in the water easily enough here, as long as you pull in close to shore. The lake bottom is solid even though it appears muddy. The yellowish film you see on the water is pollen.
The portage is very flat with a few "moist" spots. This portage can be skipped if the creek between Skipper Lake and Little Rush Lake has enough water in it (which is usually does unless it is very dry).
This is the creek traveling from Skipper Lake to Little Rush Lake. This was during a period of high water.
Straightforward landing. No real obstacles here.

A very level and rather short portage that runs straight and true through the woods. You can almost always skip this portage between these two lakes by taking the creek instead. The creek will have enough water unless it is exceptionally dry.
There is usually enough water in this handy creek, that you can skip the drudgery of the portage.
Lots of pollen in the water creates that yellow colored surface film. Portage landing is otherwise unremarkable.
