Portaging Direction: From John Lake to East Pike Lake
Easy shallow water landing on this shoreline made up of small to medium sized rocks.
Portage is semi-long, but is otherwise pretty easy walking. Going in this direction, the portage gains 68 feet of elevation, but there are no steep areas.
Landing on this flat slab of exposed rock. This rock can be slippery when algae grows on it. The water gets a little shallower if you walk up the shore past that small depression filled with water shown in the lower left of this image.

Portaging Direction: From East Pike Lake to John Lake
This landing is a little tricky just because the smooth rock gets rather slick because of algae growing on it. It is a little easier to land just a few steps back from where this photo was taken from, as the slope of the rock is lessened and the water deepens more gradually.
Other than the length of about 2/3rds of a mile, this portage is pretty straightforward. Going in this direction is also a little easier since you'll love nearly 70 feet of elevation on your way to John Lake. The portage goes over a small hill.
Fine landing on the John Lake end of this portage.
