Portaging Direction: From Hula Lake to Good Lake
The portage landing is clearly visible from the lake. The landing is in great shape. This is just northwest of a small island.
The portage is 150 rods long. For the first 30 rods it is slightly uphill. The portage is mostly level for the next 90 rods or so. The last 30 plus rods is steadily downhill. There are a couple minor muddy spots if it has rained recently. You will have no trouble tackling this well traveled portage.
View of Good Lake at the end of the portage. The campsite that is near the Indiana Lake portage is visible across the lake, just to the right of that canoe in the distance.
Another view to the west of Good Lake. This lake is probably named after Herb Good, who was a boss at one of the logging companies in the area in the early 20th century.

Portaging Direction: From Good Lake to Hula Lake
The landing on the Good Lake side of the portage is not quite as good as the Hula Lake side, but is a 'good' place to land a canoe nonetheless.
The portage is modestly uphill on a good, easy to follow path for 30 rods or so. The middle section of the portage is relatively flat. The last part of the portage is slightly downhill to Hula Lake.
View of Hula Lake from the end of the portage. The landing is solid.
