Portaging Direction: From the Crocodile River downstream to Crocodile Lake

Crocodile River to Crocodile Portage 1
There is a good landing here just upstream of a beaver dam, which is visible just to left of center in the background.

Easy flat portage. There are a couple of different canoe landings on the Crocodile Lake end of the portage. Which one you use depends on water level or personal preference.

Crocodile River to Crocodile Portage 2
Grassy landing. It looks like it may be soggy, but the ground was firm.

Portaging Direction: From Crocodile Lake upstream into the Crocodile River

Relatively good landing on the Crocodile Lake end of the portage. Portage is flat. It may get a little muddy if it's been really wet recently. Landing on the Crocodile River is excellent.

Crocodile River to Crocodile Portage 3
This is about as good a canoe landing as you can hope for in the BWCA. The view from this location upriver is also very scenic.

Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: CROCODILE RIVER
