Portaging Direction: From Clearwater Lake to Caribou Lake
Landing is fairly good on this end of the portage, just plenty of boulders.
The portage path is full of rocks and mud (if it has been wet) as you pull away from Clearwater Lake. Perhaps 50 rods or so on, you will see a turnoff on your left which leads down to Caribou Lake. Going straight gets you to Deer Lake eventually. From the turnoff, the portage heads downhill for the most part. Eventually it flattens out. The last 15 rods are so are often muddy just before reaching the landing at Caribou Lake.
Large rocks make up the landing area on Caribou Lake.

Portaging Direction: From Caribou Lake to Clearwater Lake
As you can see in the photo, a few rocks.
From Caribou Lake, the portage is steadily uphill until you come to the point where the portage from Deer Lake intersects this portage. Once past the split, the portage is flat, but it is also more rocky and more consistently wet. The portage landings are fairly good on each end.
Trivial landing with a couple rocks to dodge as you put your boat in Clearwater Lake.
