The Portage between Clearwater Lake and the east end of Caribou Lake
Portaging Direction: From Clearwater Lake to the east end of Caribou Lake
This boulder strewn landing will require a little ingenuity to get your stuff loaded/unloaded.
The first half of this portage is up, up, up. In fact it climbs about 150 feet above Clearwater Lake. Once this portage reaches its zenith, it is down, down, down to Caribou Lake, losing about 240 feet of altitude along this stretch. There are some old metal artifacts, machine parts, along the trail as you get closer to Caribou Lake
There is a good landing at Caribou Lake on this large slab of rock.

Portaging Direction: From the east end of Caribou Lake to Clearwater Lake
Pull out on this table rock. It makes for a fairly good landing.
The portage is somewhat more difficult going in this direction. You gain about 240 feet of altitude over the first 100 rods. Once the trail tops out where it crosses a ridge, it descends about 150 feet down to Clearwater Lake. Shortly after leaving Clearwater Lake, there are some rusted metal machine parks along the path on your left side.
This landing has lots of boulders and some semi-tricky footing.
