The Portage between Carl Lake and Lux Lake

Portaging Direction: From Carl Lake to Lux Lake

A good landing. You can see the water is shallow. Bottom is mostly firm.

A short but rigorous portage. From Carl Lake it goes up the steep hill, levels out for about 4 feet and then goes down a fairly slanted slope until you reach the landing on Lux Lake.

Lux Lake has fairly clear water giving you a good view of the lake bottom here at the portage landing.

Portaging Direction: From Lux Lake to Carl Lake

Small rocks and gravel. Easy place to stand to unload your canoes.

This portage goes right up a hill and then goes down the otherside. Luckily the portage is not very long.

An OK landing here on Carl Lake. A few rocks and a slightly silty bottom substrate.
