This is the old cabin in June 2020. Contrast it with image from 2015 below.
This old log cabin is right next to the portage trail not far from the Crooked Lake end. It is a good possibility that this is one of the shacks used by "Tame" Tom Parent (for whom Perent Lake is likely named, first settlers to live on that lake) and "Wild" Bill Pemble. These two trappers ran a trap line of around 100 miles between Silver Island Lake and the Canadian Border. Another shack was on Ottertrack Lake. This view was in October 2015.
The old cabin is along the portage very near to the rapids and not far from the Crooked Lake end of the portage. An unnamed lake is just beyond the cabin in the Gillis Lake direction (June 2020).
