Cherokee Lake Campsite 1
A smooth slab of rock provides a decent place to park your canoes on the east side of the campsite. This campsite is on the north end of the island. Another much smaller island is just offshore to the north. The campsite faces the east side of the lake, looking toward the bay where the Town Lake portage is located.

The fire grate is well shaded. Place to pitch a tent in the foreground.

Campsite is in good shape. It is not very open though, so bugs could be an issue. There are no good spots to lay out on the rocks to look at the stars at night. If you like secluded campsites though, this may be the place for you. There are no particularly good food pack hanging trees. There were three super long poles made of skinny trees that can be erected to hang a food pack from at time of visit. Space for at least three tents. Trails run out from the camp along the lake.
