A nicely located campsite near the middle of the lake, with lousy canoe landing spots. You might need to get your feet wet at this landing. Couldn't find any spots around to the sides that were any better than this (May 12, 2016).
Commanding views of Cross Bay Lake. This is looking toward the east/southeast (May 12, 2016).
Exploring the campsite located at the sharp bend along the western shoreline of Cross Bay Lake. This is a fine site except for the canoe landing and the latrine being way too close to the rest of the campsite. BWCA Campsite 558 on the south end of the lake, by the Rib Lake portage, would likely be considered superior by most campers (September 4, 2022).
< An older walkaround of this campsite (May 12, 2016).
Another view of the kitchen (September 4, 2022).
Early morning view of the sitting area around the fire pit (September 4, 2022).
Even the cook gets a nice view (May 12, 2016).
Open area directly behind the cooking area/fire ring, where a tent could be set up (May 12, 2016).
Another tent pad back in the woods. This spot could accommodate a huge throng of campers (May 12, 2016).
Yet another tent site spot (May 12, 2016).
Additional view of the kitchen area, but this time looking toward the north (May 12, 2016).
Yep, yep, yep... (September 2, 2022).
La Toilette. This extremely important place is too close to the fire pit at this campsite (September 4, 2022).
Looking north shortly after dawn (September 4, 2022).
Panoramic view to the north in the morning (September 4, 2022).
Midday, looking generally north from the campsite (September 3, 2022).

Another view of the northern lights - about 10 PM (September 3, 2022) [Image taken with a iPhone 11 Pro].
View east from this campsite in the afternoon (May 12, 2016).
Still looking east, but this is in the morning (September 3, 2022).
