Exiting the clear waters of Tuscarora Lake, you lug your gear up onto the rocks of the portage landing that begins the start of the path to Owl Lake. This is a 68 rod portage. The water here is shallow at least which makes dealing with the boulder strewn landing easier.
The well trodden path from Tuscarora Lake to Owl Lake is 68 rods. This portage is in good condition and quite easy. The landing's are so-so on both ends. On the Tuscarora end there is a boulder field to navigate through to get out of the lake. On the Owl Lake end, you have to lower your canoe down from a rock ledge.
Owl Lake from the Tuscarora Lake portage landing. This landing is an elevated rock ledge, so it is a bit of work to get your canoe in and out of the lake.
