BWCA Portage: Rifle Lake to Lake Two

Portaging from Rifle Lake

The start of the portage trail leading to Lake Two. Except for a couple rock ledges to hoist your gear up, it is a flat portage for the most part.

Coming from the Rifle Lake side of this portage, you must step up several rock ledges soon after you start portaging. It is easier to go up these ledges. Coming from Lake Two, the ledges can be a bit tricky going down them, particularly if it is wet outside.

Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: LAKE TWO

Portage from Lake Two into: Lake One. Also you can paddle into Lake Three. It is also possible to bushwhack into Rock Island Lake in the Weasel Lake Primitive Management Area.
