Hauling the canoe over the 85 rod portage between Parent Lake and Disappointment Lake. This is a relatively easy portage on a firm, rocky trail. The trail crosses a small stream along the way, not long before reaching Disappointment Lake. Nice view of a wetland. This route is much less traveled than the more direct Snowbank Lake to Disappointment Lake portage (October 3, 2021).
Older video of this portage (July 25, 2015).
Note that the Snowbank Lake portage also starts here. Make sure you take the correct trail! Easy landing. Shallow water offshore, so we vigilant for underwater rocks as you head out onto the lake (October 3, 2021).
