Portaging Direction: From Missing Link Lake to Round Lake
Portage to Round Lake found in the northwest part of Missing Link Lake. This portage is 142 rods long. Landing on Missing Link Lake side is rocky, but the water is shallow. The portage starts out flat and then descends steadily downhill to the very reasonable canoe landing on Round Lake.

From the northwest bay of Missing Link Lake, portage for 142 rods to Round Lake. It is down slope all the way. Much easier in this direction. Round Lake has a nice launching area for a canoe (June 2020).

Portaging Direction: From Round Lake to Missing Link Lake
From this sandy, solid bottomed landing area on Round Lake, you begin your haul up to Missing Link Lake.
The portage heading up to Missing Link Lake gains about 100 feet of elevation in less than half a mile. Portage could be considered borderline rugged in this direction. This is a nice warm up portage if you plan to head to Tuscarora Lake after reaching Missing Link Lake. The tread is muddy in places and also has some rocky spots. The worst part is that the trail is almost continuously uphill (June 2020).

A rather rocky landing here. Easiest side to put the boat in the water seems to be on the right.
