Portaging Direction: From Upper Pauness Lake to Lower Pauness Lake
A good landing spot exists squeezed between the rocks.
Portage is heavily trampled by many boots. A couple wet spots and a rock or two, but otherwise a solid trail.
Lots of small rocks to add a few more scratches to the canoe. Rocks are small enough to stand on easily. Water is shallow if you need to stand in it.

Portaging Direction: From Lower Pauness Lake to Upper Pauness Lake
The landing is quite rocky. The shallow water offsets any difficulty the rocks would otherwise present.
Straightforward portage. Minimal obstacles. Not much else to say.
The landing on Upper Pauness Lake is a spot better as you can see.
Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: UPPER PAUNESS LAKE
