Portaging Direction: From the Little Indian Sioux River downstream to the Little Indian Sioux River

Decent landing on the left side of the river if heading downstream. The landing is well back from the top of the waterfall.

A quick downhill portage next to one of the BWCA's favorite waterfalls. The landing at the bottom of the falls isn't too good.

Portaging Direction: From the Little Indian Sioux River upstream to the Little Indian Sioux River

The landing at the base of the falls leaves something to be desired. You get up onto a rock ledge to get out of your canoe. The portage is short but uphill. Nice views of Sioux Falls.

This is a good landing zone. The location is far enough upstream of the waterfall that being sucked into it after paddling away from the shore is of much concern.
