The Portage between Jake Lake and Morgan Lake

Portaging Direction: From Morgan Lake to Jake Lake

Jake Lake to Morgan Lake 1
This portage starts back in a little inlet. The bottom is firm and made up of silt and sand. A pleasant landing.

This portage is nearly flat. It follows the edge of a marsh. When the water levels are good, it is possible to paddle the creek between Jake Lake and Morgan Lake. Even then it probably won't be easier than just using the portage, but it is doable. Likely to be a beaver dam and maybe a log or two that require a liftover along the creek.

The landing on this end is also top notch. Small rocks and pebbles mixed with sand. Water is very shallow.

The photo should tell you all you need to know about this landing.

Mostly level portage along the border of a marsh. A creek flows through this marsh and it can be paddled if there is sufficient water. Expect at least one beaver dam. The portage is probably still easier than the creek though (it's here for a reason).

Jake Lake to Morgan Lake 4
Another nice portage landing. Silt and sand lake bottom with ankle deep water. After paddling out of this little inlet, you will head to the left out onto Morgan Lake.
