The vestiges of Howl Lake lies before you. The portage from Howl Lake to Tuscarora Lake is directly across this short stretch of water. The portage landing on this side is very easy to manage. Until around 2006 there used to be a boardwalk across Howl Lake. It fell into disrepair and wasn't replaced.
