This portage is also known as the Daniels Lake Cutoff. It forms the north end of the Daniels Lake Trail. The Daniels Lake Trail is used as an access trail to reach the Border Route Trail. This portage connects Daniels Lake to the Long Portage. The Border Route Trail shares its path with the Long Portage between Rove Lake and Rose Lake.
