Portaging Direction: From Basswood Lake to Good Lake
The landing on Basswood Lake is semi-muddy and has a lot of sticks and debris in the water. Otherwise a fairly good landing location.
Almost no elevation change along this portage. The flat ground allows for standing water which means this portage is oftentimes muddy. Expect to be visited by plenty of hungry skeeters. Very hungry! The mosquitoes will help you walk faster.
High water levels create this narrow channel to the portage landing.
