The Portage between Angleworm Lake and Home Lake

Portaging Direction: From Angleworm Lake to Home Lake

The beginning of the portage to Home Lake from the north end of Angleworm Lake. A beaver dam is just visible left of center (behind the boulder). That beaver dam marks that start of the creek that connects the two lakes. This creek is called Home Creek. Home Creek continues to the north out of the other side of Home Lake, eventually ending at its mouth on Beartrap Lake.

This portage starts at the north end of Angleworm Lake. There is usually a beaver dam here. Portage is to the right of the beaver dam (and the right side of creek). The creek flows north toward Home Lake. At the beginning, you will have Home Creek visible on your left and then the path goes into the woods. The whole portage is 65 rods and is slightly downhill. It is a very well worn path and thus pretty easy.

The portage from Home Lake to Angleworm Lake starts in this shaded bay. Nothing difficult about the landing.

Portaging 65 rods from Home Lake over to Angleworm Lake. Well worn path. Some nice views of the creek that connects the two lakes to be had from the Angleworm Lake end of the portage. Usually a beaver dam there.
