Portaging Direction: From Ada Lake to Ada Creek
Note the nice sandy area at your feet. The lake is shallow up to the landing making this an easy place to hop out of a canoe.
This 80 rod portage has a slight gain and loss of elevation on each end and is otherwise relatively level the rest of the way. The portage is a bit rocky, but is in sound condition overall.
A small unnamed lake visible to the southeast along the portage.
Ada Creek portage landing. This landing has shallow water and a smooth bottom. An easy place to land and unload a canoe...or load and launch one. Scenic views of the wetland through which Ada Creek passes, are visible from this end of the portage.

Portaging Direction: From Ada Creek to Ada Lake
The portage landing has shallow water and good places to stash gear while you carry your first load across. The portage is predominantly mildly uphill going in this direction. It is not otherwise difficult.
A mostly flat portage with a touch of elevation gained and lost at each end of the portage. Some rocks on the trail and a log or two to hurdle. About midway across the portage there is a view of a distant lake or pond. This is in the direction of Hide Lake, but that is not the waterbody you'll be seeing.
Ada Lake is scenic enough. While it looks like a rough landing with all the boulders, it is actually good. The water is shallow and the bottom is small gravel and sand. Good place to shove off.
