This is a short and flat portage in place to get by the pretty set of rapids between Koma Lake and Malberg Lake. This little stretch of river between these two lakes is another section of the Kawishiwi River. The landings on both ends of this portage are solid.
Here you see the bottom of the rapids where the portage from Koma Lake ends at Malberg Lake. This again is the Kawishiwi River. It is often worth wetting a line here.

Portaging Direction: From Malberg Lake to Koma Lake

Portaging from Malberg Lake to Koma Lake. The portage is an easy 24 rods with nice scenery to take your mind off your load. You can hear the Kawishiwi River to your right as it flows over some fairly impressive rapids.
