This is the interesection where the "loop" part of the Powwow Trail connects to the "stick" part of the trail that leads back to the trailhead.
Where the stick meets the loop. If you head down the trail on the right of the sign, you will be committing to hiking the look in a counterclockwise direction. Heading to the left (beyond the backpack lying on the trail) is the way to go if you want to hike clockwise around the loop. Turning around and walking the way you came leads back to the trailhead.
The entire Powwow Trail has now been cleared (as of 2020). The trail had been severely damaged by the 2011 Pagami Creek fire.
