This campsite is on the south end of the lake, away from canoe traffic. There is a good landing on a rock shelf with shallow water out in front of the campsite. The rock shelf provides the only good shoreline access. The fire grate is well placed up high above the water and with some good tree protection. There are three tent pads, a couple of them are satsifactory, one is rather lumpy.
The landing is this rock slab sloping into shallow water.
Fire grate area. There is plenty of downed timber around this campsite. The site was right on the edge of the 2007 Ham Lake Fire.
Camp fire grate with lake in the background. Not a bad view.
The kitchen from another angle.
Tent pad near the fire grate and close to the lakeshore.
Here is another pad back in the woods.
This tent pad is a big rougher than the other two.
Old style green can. Still has the lid.
View towards the northwest. The mouth of Larch Creek is just around that point and small island visible just right of center.
