The canoe landing has a log embedded into the shoreline, probably to prevent erosion. As you can see, the water is shallow here with a sand bottom.
The firepit. A tent pad area is just to the right. This is a compact site. You can also pitch a tent right between the firepit and the canoe landing (basically where you are standing).
This is the campsite on the north end of Koma Lake closest to the 24 rod portage leading to Malberg Lake. The ground is soft and sandy, making it somewhat more comfortable for sleeping.

A view of most of the lake from the campsite. On a quiet, windless night you can hear the rapids between Koma Lake and Malberg Lake along the Kawishiwi River.
