A tour of the north campsite on Gordon Lake. This lake is often just passed through by paddlers, so there is a good chance one of the two campsites on this quiet lake is open. The southern campsite has a resident moose (as of 2019, not kidding) who has left its droppings everywhere. Therefore, this may be the better of the two campsites. This site has two tent pads. The canoe landing is a little rough. This site seems to be the more heavily utilized campsite on this lake.
A rocky canoe landing, but the water is shallow and there is reasonable footing, so all is not lost.
These campsites on Gordon Lake don't feel like they get heavy usage. This is the kitchen area of the campsite. The portage to Unload Lake would be straight across the lake in the distance.
Some nice tree roots and rocks to stab you in the back at night, so some strategy will be needed to wisely place the tent location.
Another fair-sized tent pad.
A nice view comes with this campsite. This is a look southward down the west shoreline from the campsite.
