Campsite is heavily shaded. Might be insect problem here. There are several good tent pads. Expect to see regular traffic from this campsite, including motorboats. This campsite is in the BWCA, even though it is on the part of East Bearskin Lake that is outside of the BWCA. The shoreline is in the Boundary Waters. Private cabins are visible across the lake on the opposite shoreline and you will hear people talking and dogs barking from time to time. The trail back to the latrine comes to a 'Y' intersection. If you go right, you must ascend a steep hill to the latrine. If you go left, you'll be following a short trail that leads to the banks of the Crocodile River where you can view some rapids and a lovely waterfall.

Some rock hazards at this campsite's landing. You have to lift the canoe up out of the water onto the bank.

East Bearskin Lake Campsite 2
The fire pit is heavily shaded. Only minimal access to the shoreline from this campsite. A huge log (back left near canoe) and the bark that covered that log make up much of the seating here.

One of the better tent pads at this campsite.

East Bearskin Lake Campsite 4
This campsite is right near the fire pit and close to the lakeshore.

East Bearskin Lake Campsite 5
This tent pad gets minimal use resulting in it being a bit overgrown.

Following the latrine trail out the back of the campsite, you soon come to this 'Y' intersection. Heading to the right leads to the latrine. Heading to the left takes you to the river.

Don't wait until the last minute before heading to this bad boy. It's up a steep hill. For your climbing efforts, you won't get rewarded with a view from this throne room.

View of waterfall and rapids from the trail that leads back into the woods from campsite.
