Canoe landing is fine, but can be a tad difficult to see from the water. The actual camp is set well back from the water next to a grove of thimbleberry in a forest clearing. Limited views of the water from here. Very shady so this campsite may have some bug issues. There are two overgrown tent pads, indicating that this campsite sees view visitors. One other small tent pad is on a bed of pine needles. The latrine looked to be relatively new (2024) and is reached by following the trail through more thimbleberry. The forest is very open in this area. This may have been a camp used in the logging days (just a hunch). This is probably the least used campsite on Caribou Lake.
The canoe landing is excellent, one you find it. Since the fire grate is set back in the woods, this campsite is a little difficult to find.
Large open area around the fire grate.
Another look at the kitchen. Obscured view of the water through the trees.
A seldom used tent pad.
Another grassy tent pad.
Small tent pad nestled beneath some pine trees.
Fancy new throne. Good place to observe thimbleberry plants.
Thimbleberry grows everywhere around this campsite.
