Canoe landing area not the best. The fire grate is well placed in a large open place. There is some shade. There are at least four tent pads. Basically the whole area around the fire grate can be used as a tent pad. Latrine is a top of the line newer model courtesy of the U.S. Forest Service. The portage to Lizz Lake is directly across the bay from the campsite, so you'll have plenty of traffic passing through. Also BWCA Campsite 944 is just across the lake from this site, so you'll see and hear your neighbors.
This landing is to the left side of the campsite as you approach from the north. Some large rocks to work around.
Large open area around the fire grate.
Another look at the kitchen. The whole area behind the fire grate extending to the edge of the lake can by used for tents. It's nice and flat. The portage landing to Lizz Lake is visible on the far shoreline right in the middle of this photo.
Huge tent pad between the kitchen and the lake.
There is a large boulder (likely a glacial erratic) at the campsite. Makes a good place for setting gear out.
A tent pad tucked back in the woods.
This tent pad is behind the glacial erratic (boulder). It's fairly close to the kitchen if you need a midnight snack.
