Many maps of Brule Lake show this campsite near the western entrance to this bay. The campsite is actually located near the back of the bay (eastern end) along the north shoreline. This is a lightly visited campsite and rather secluded for Brule Lake. The fire grate is set back in the woods from the shoreline and can be a little hard to see when approaching this campsite. There is almost no view of the lake from the fire grate seating area. It is heavily shaded. The campsite has two small tent pads. One tent pad is infested with tree roots, the other tent pad was OK, but tiny. The canoe landing is solid. Latrine accessible along a brushy trail.
The landing isn't too bad at all.
The kitchen has an abandoned look to it.
The mildly overgrown kitchen. Notice that the canoe landing is visible in the background.
Of the two tent pads at this campsite, this one is the odds on favorite.
You'll have to use a bit of strategy to fit a tent between all the roots.
The remains of a young moose. The leg bones seem to be missing, but most of the rest of the skeleton is present.
View towards the east. This photo shows how close to the back of the bay this campsite actually is.
Looking west after sunset in the direction of the main lake.
