Campsite has two tent pads. The canoe landing is rather rough. You have to pull your boats and gear up onto some rocks and them lift them up to get them into the campsite. The fire pit has a good location. Somewhat limited shoreline access. The campsite is right on the canoe route for traffic entering the BWCA with Entry Point 69 and Entry Point 70 permits. Also BWCA Campsite 748 is easily visible just across the lake. This is still a relatively quiet part of the BWCA, so it shouldn't be too busy.
Fairly difficult landing at this campsite onto this pile of sharp edged boulders.
Well place fire grate set upon a large flat rock surface. Kitchen area offers good views of lake.
Another view of the kitchen with the lake in the background.
There are two obvious tent pads at this campsite and both seemed reasonably good. This one was perhaps slightly sloped.
The other tent pad that is closer to the waters edge.
The green plastic thing nestled between a pine tree and a cedar tree.
View from the campsite. The optional portage to Little John Lake is just to the left out of view.
BWCA Campsite 748 is just visible over the cedar bough just right of center. That is also where the Royal River flows out of John Lake.
