The primary canoe landing is on the rock shelf on the east end of the campsite. It can be a tad slippery. There are a couple of other landing spots too, but they seemed more difficult to manage. The fire grate is set back in the forest up a stone 'sidewalk' from the canoe landing. The kitchen is in a wide open area covered in short grass. Limited views of Horseshoe Lake from the kitchen seating area. There are three tent pads, with one huge one near the fire grate that is nice and flat. The other two are back in the woods on the way to the latrine. They don't get nearly as much use. Only access to the water is from the rock shelf that serves as the canoe landing. However, there is plenty of room to set up a few chairs here. Since it's on the mid-lake point, you'll have expansive views of the lake. A good bit of canoe traffic passes this campsite. Also, BWCA Campsite 674 lies only 600 feet to the southwest and BWCA Campsite 675 is about 725 feet to the south, so you may hear noise from these sites during your visit.
The landing at this campsite is a little tricky. The smooth, sloping rock can get a bit slippery.
The fire grate is situated in a wide open grassy space well back from the water.
Another view of the kitchen while facing east toward the stone path that leads to the canoe landing and waters edge.
Large and very smooth tent pad.
This small and more 'rugged' tent pad is back in the woods.
Another small and less frequently used tent pad that is set back in the forest along the latrine trail.
The plastic god.
