Portaging Direction: From BWCA Entry Point 6 to Slim Lake
Portage to Slim Lake starts just to the left of the bulletin board in the parking lot.
Starting from the parking lot just left of the sign, it's 80 very easy rods to Slim Lake. This portage is flat and in excellent condition. There are two small wooden bridges to cross along the way. The landing at Slim Lake is sandy with small gravel. The water is clear and the lake bottom is smooth so footing is excellent.
You'll be greeted by a very pleasant canoe landing at Slim Lake. The main lake is reach by paddling around around that rock point, near the middle of your view.

Portaging Direction: From Slim Lake to BWCA Entry Point 6
A buttery smooth landing as you can see. The rest of the portage is just as nice as this landing. It's an easy one.
No miserable portage to look forward to at the end of your trip. Taking this portage from Slim Lake back to your car will probably be the easiest haul you've done on this trip (especially if coming from another entry point). Portage is nice and level and in mint condition.
The return to civilization. This parking lot can be stuffed with cars during the busy summer season.
